FODH are holding their 3rd annual awards night on Friday November 13th. It promises to be another great night. The 1st awards night in 2007 was
held in the Red Cow Hotel and over 400 people attended. In 2008 we had a full house at the Grand Hotel Malahide. The following awards will be
given out on the night.
Hall of Fame Award.
The 2 recipients so far are Jimmy Boggan[RIP] and Seán Óg Ó Ceallacháin. This year’s winner will not be revealed until the big night but suffice it to say that the winner will be a very worthy recipient of the award.
Senior Player of the Year.
The 3 players in contention for this award are Alan McCrabbe, Stephen Hiney and Tomás Brady. The previous winners were Ronan Fallon and David O’Callaghan.
Young Player of the Year.
The 3 players in contention are David Treacy, Liam Rushe and Oisin Gough. The previous winners were Alan McCrabbe and Tomás Brady.
Clubs of the Year
The three winning clubs will receive a cheque for €1,000 and a beautiful plaque for display in the clubhouse. The clubs in contention this year are Good Counsel, Thomas Davis, Parnells, Na Fianna. Last year’s winners were Lucan Sarsfields, St. Sylvesters and Naomh Barróg. An application form can be had from our website www.fodh.ie
Guests at the Awards Night
Anthony Daly, his selectors and some members of the team as well as the u-21 and minor selectors, the mentors of the hurling squads will be in attendance. Special guests are the members of the 1965 All Ireland minor hurling champions and the 1967 All-Ireland All-Ireland runners up.
