Ballyboden St Enda’s outclassed St Vincent’s when cruising to a 4-19 to 0-8 victory in Thursday night’s Dublin SHC ‘A’ Group C clash at ParnellPark.
The Firhouse Road men were 3-8 to 0-4 to the good by the interval with Maurice Nagle, Shane Durkin and Simon Lambert all raising green flags.
Early in the second half Conor McCormack fired home Boden’s fourth goal while the free-taking of Paul Ryan saw him finish with a personal tally of 0-12 (0-8f, 0-2 ‘65’).
Conal Keaney was replaced at half-time after an influential opening half hour as a precaution and is not considered an injury concern.
In the earlier duel at ParnellPark a late Alan McCrabbe free snatched a draw (0-18 to 1-15) for Craobh Chiaráin in their SHC ‘A’ Group A encounter.
The battle was even enough throughout with Lucan finishing out the opening half with scores from Aidan Roche, Chris Crummy and Seán McClelland helped their side to a 0-10 to 0-9 interval lead.
Eight minutes into the second half McClelland grabbed the only goal of the game and the freetaking of Kevin O’Reilly kept Lucan in front with two fine points from sub Stephen Kirwan still had them looking like winners despite the sending off of Joey Byrne (54 minute) until the late strike from the influential McCrabbe.
There was also a share of the spoils in O’Toole Park as Conor Carton’s injury-time free earned O’Toole’s a 0-19 to 1-16 draw with Cuala in Group A.
The Larriers made the early running and led by five points approaching the break but an excellent David Treacy goal brought the sides level by the interval, 0-10 to 1-7.
Going into the dying moments of the game Barry Connolly slotted a free after Treacy was fouled to edge Cuala in front by the minimum but O’Toole’s had the final word with Carton’s equaliser.
