Bord Gáis launched a new website to support the Bord Gáis Energy GAA Hurling U-21 Championship in Parnell Park in the presence of Dublin captain Simon Lambert and his Kilkenny counterpart David Langton. The new site will offer news, information and interactive activity linked to the competition. A major feature of the online campaign is the “Pass It On” viral which is set to take GAA fans by storm this summer. The video sees a sliotar being passed around the country and beyond, starting in Portumna with Joe Canning and onto various hurling stars and members of the public in a variety of venues.
Bord Gáis Sport Sponsorship Manager, Ger Cunningham, said the company was delighted to be launching the website, www.breakingthrough.ie, as part of its sponsorship of the U-21 HC. Bord Gás has also set up a starting fund of 10,000 euro for Crumlin’s Children’s Hospital and Temple Street Children’s Hospital and has pledged to donate another 2 euro, to be split between the charities, for every video clip that is uploaded onto the site by the public.
“We are working hard to promote the Bord Gáis Energy GAA Hurling U-21 Championship” said Cunningham. “The Leinster final between Kilkenny and Dublin I’m sure will not disappoint and I’m very much looking forward to the contest” he said.
Dublin last won the final in 2007 with victory over Offaly, and they hope to repeat this feat on Wednesday when they take on current champions Kilkenny. Throw in is at 7.30pm in Parnell Park on Wednesday and the match will be screened live on TG4.
