Club News – Senior & u21
COOLDERRY 1-18, BALLYBODEN 0-15 KEN HOGAN’S heroes from Coolderry bearded the Ballyboden St Enda’s lion in its own den, drew its teeth and then rendered it helpless at Parnell Park yesterday. Dublin’s pride, the five-in-a-row county champions, simply had no answer to the questions posed by a lively, pacey and ruthlessly efficient Coolderry team. By coincidence, Ballyboden manager Liam Hogan hails from the small Offaly parish and played in Coolderry’s last appearance in the provincial decider, when they lost to the Ballyhale Shamrocks of Kilkenny. Native roots were put aside by Hogan as he plotted the downfall of the club...
Next Sunday at 2.30pm at Parnell Park Ballyboden take on Coolderry of Offaly in the Leinster club semi-final. It’s a tough call for manager Liam Hogan as he faces his home club. Ballyboden have been knocking at the Leinster door for the past five years. Hopefully, they have learned alot from those experiences. Big support will be much appreciated and it may help them get to the Leinster final. They represent Dublin so well and it would bre another great boost for Dublin hurling if Ballyboden could win....
Ballyboden St Enda’s 2-12 Clonkill 1-13 Ballyboden St Enda’s were made to fight all the way by Westmeath champions Clonkill at Mullingar yesterday, before qualifying for the provincial semi-final. On a very pleasant afternoon for hurling, it was clear from an early juncture that the home side were going to be competitive and the teams were level at 0-4 apiece after 20 minutes, with the winners’ All Star goalkeeper Gary Maguire needing to be at his best on a couple of occasions, including pulling off a brilliant save early on from Brendan Murtagh. In the 24th minute, an error from...
Leinster Club SHC quarter-finals Clonkill (Westmeath) v Ballyboden (Dublin), Mullingar, 2.30pm James Stephens (Kilkenny) v Oulart-the-Ballagh (Wexford), Nowlan Park, 2.30pm This Ballyboden team will be representing Dublin for the fifth time on Sunday as they head for Mullingar. They have been unlucky in not winning a Leinster title to date but this could be their year. Inspite of the loss of key players they have been in superb form in the Dublin championship this year. They have a lot of experience and hopefully this will stand to them in the games ahead. All Dublin will wish them well....
By Niall Scully Monday October 31 2011 FIVE bags full. Some haul on Hallowe’en Sunday. The rain was coming down in Parnell Park. The Boden Boys were back up on the podium…again. Down on the pitch, the Lordly Larriers stayed on to join in the applause. They were the first to offer their congratulations. “Ballyboden are such a superb outfit,” mused the O’Toole’s manager, Joey Morris. “They are everything that champions should be. “They have such strength in depth, and they are not five-in-a-row champions for nothing.” O’Toole’s were well in the contest in the early pages, which was level...

Boden knock Lucan for six 19 Oct 2011 | hill16.ie BALLYBODEN ST ENDA’S 6-10 LUCAN SARSFIELDS 1-8 Ballyboden St Enda’s drive for five continued in emphatic fashion when they accounted for Lucan Sarsfields in Wednesday night’s Evening Herald Dublin SHC ‘A’ semi-final at Parnell Park. The champions of the past four seasons made the dream start when Paul Ryan fired to the Lucan net inside 15 seconds and points from Paul Ryan and David O’Connor had them 1-2 to 0-1 up by the midpoint of the opening half. The game was delayed due to a knee injury to Lucan forward,...
Webster goal puts Larriers on road to final 20 Oct 2011 | hill16.ie O’TOOLE’S 1-17 ST BRIGID’S 0-15 O’Toole’s qualified for their first Dublin SHC ‘A’ final since 2002 when they overcame Brigid’s with a strong second half showing in Wednesday night’s opening semi-final at Parnell Park. The game turned the Larriers way either side of the half-time break. Firstly, Brigid’s spurned a goal-scoring opportunity and then with the last puck of the opening half Danny Webster cracked home the only goal of the game following good approach play by Peadar Carton. It was a winning momentum that O’Toole’s maintained...
County champions Ballyboden St.Endas will meet Lucan Sarsfields in the county semi-final at Parnell Park on Wednesday October 19th.
