Col Eanna 3-12
Cistercian Col, Roscrea 2-8
Second-half goals from John Breen and Finnian McDonagh propelled Dublin side Colaiste Eanna to glory in the Leinster schools’ senior “B” hurling final on Saturday last in O’Moore Park Portlaoise.
The Dubs were trailing by two points at half-time, but they turned the tide in the second half by outscoring their opponents 2-6 to 1-4.
The Roscrea college were by far the better side in the opening half as some fine scores from Jack O’Driscoll and David Kinghelped them to a 1-6 to 1-4 interval lead.
But the second half failed to live up to expectations, with the goals from Breen and McDonagh proving vital, with Finbar Furey and Cillian Moffat tagging on late insurance scores.
