Col Eoin 2-12 Col Eanna 1-7
Col Eoin produced a superb display to beat their Dublin schools’ rivals, Col Eanna, in the Leinster colleges’ senior “B” hurling final in Parnell Park. In doing so, the Stillorgan side is the first Dublin school to claim this title.
The game was evenly matched for much of the first half. However, as half time approached, centre forward Sean Ó Conchubhair kicked the sliotar to the net for “Eoin’s” first goal. Corner forward, Sean McCraith scored a second goal minutes later to help his side to 2-5 to 0-5 half-time lead.
Early in the second half a Col Eanna goal from John Kehoe reduced the deficit and “Eanna” pressed hard to reduce it further. However, Danny Sutcliffe was begining to exert a bigger influence at midfield for Col Eoin and further points from him and Sean McGrath ensured that this was going to be an historic day for his side. Col Eoin will now face Connacht oposition in the All-Ireland senior “B” colleges’ semi-final on the 21st March.
