Congrats to Coláiste Eoin who are celebrating fifty years this year. They are holding a special match this Saturday at UCD at 2pm when Mattie Kenny’s Dublin will play a Coláiste Eoin selection. When Cuala and Kilmacud Crokes met recently about 23 players on view were past pupils of Coláiste Eoin. Former Coláiste Eoin students such as the Cuala contingent Mark Schutte, Seán Moran, Jake Malone, Colm Cronin, Diarmuid O Floinn, John, Cillian and Colum Sheanon, Seán Brennan, Cian O’Callaghan, Cian and Con O’Callaghan as well as Kilmacud Crokes Fergal Whitely, Seán McGrath and Oisín O’Rorke and St Jude’s Fionn O Riain Broin and Danny Sutcliffe as well as St Vincent’s Cian, Rian and Darach McBride and keeper Dara De Poire are expected to be included in their panel for their clash against Mattie Kenny’s selection.They have made a magnificent contribution to Dublin hurling and football. They are the only Dublin 2nd level team that takes part in the Leinster A Colleges competition. Friends of Dublin Hurling acknowledged their contribution and made them the inaugural winners of Second level School of the Year in 2010. Ar aghaidh leis an dea-obair, lads.
