In 2017 Cuala defeated St. Brigids in the quarter- final on a score of 3-14 to 2-15. Brigids lost Paul Winters midway in the first half and they missed his free taking skill. Cuala went on that year to win the county, province and the All-Ireland finals. Now they meet again. Cuala are the most impressive team in the country at the moment and Brigids will need to be at their very best to be in contention. They were very impressive against Na Fianna in the quarter- final and Craobh Chiarain in the semi-final. They are strong all over with some very impressive forwards. It promises to be a wonderful game at Parnell Park at 4pm. The curtain raiser- 2pm- is Round Towers Clondalkin v Scoil Uí Chonaill and they are fighting for the right to represent Dublin in the Leinster Junior series. Both teams are celebrating winning finals in recent weeks so this should be a cracker. On Saturday Fingallians are away to Clara of Offaly in the Leinster club. Also on Saturday St. Judes play Castleknock at 2pm at O’Toole Park in the Junior Hurling C Championship Final.
Friday November 29th is the date for the 13th Annual Fodh Celebration Night. On the night we will honour players, schools and clubs who we believe deserve recognition for their contribution to the promotion of hurling in Dublin. Two schools and two clubs will receive a set of club jerseys compliments of O’Neills Sport. It is always a wonderful night so you might put the date in your diary.
Enjoy Parnell Park on Sunday next.
