Ger Cunningham has not ruled himself out of the running to replace Anthony Daly as Dublin hurling manager.
The former Cork hurler and selector said “there’s been no approach” when quizzed on his interest in the position yesterday.
Cunningham, along with former Tipperary boss Liam Sheedy and Dublin U21 manager Shay Boland, is one of the strong favourites to lead the county into the 2015 championship.
Meanwhile, Tony Kelly refused to be drawn into the row which has seen Podge Collins withdraw from the Clare hurling set-up. Manager Davy Fitzgerald, it is understood, made it clear that he would not entertain dual players next season, forcing the Collins brothers, Seán and Podge, to decide between codes. The pair have opted to play with the county’s footballers for 2015.
“This is nothing for me or the U21 management to get dragged into. It’s for Podge, Seán and Davy and the senior management to tease through,” said Kelly.
