Clare manager Davy Fitzgerald is to train the a junior F hurling team in Dublin. The Wild Geese hurlers was selected by the RTE Radio 1″ John Murray Show” as its team to follow this season. Its a first for a Dublin Club and follows on the back of the acclaimed book, ‘There is an F in Hurling’. The book, the first of its kind, is a’ warts and all’ account of life in the GAA’s junior ranks in Dublin. The second edition has been a huge commercial success with all the proceeds going to juvenile hurling in the club.
Davy Fitzgerald, whose Clare team have made it through to the All Ireland quarter finals, will train the Wild Geese hurlers at the request of RTE radio show, which has a listenership of 350,000. The training session will take place in the GAA grounds in Oldtown, Wednesday 31 July between 18.30 – 20.30pm. Anyone interested in witnessing this novel occasion is welcome to come along that evening.
