Dublin South schools’ juvenile hurling team scored an impressive 3-12 to 2-4 win over Dublin North in the semi-final of the Leinster juvenile “A” hurling (Dr Barry Cup) in Parnell Park on Monday. Playing with a strong wind in the first half, the “South” built up a commanding 2-7 to 0-1 lead going into the half-time break.
The “North” played with far more conviction in the second half, but despite thier best efforts were unable to greatly reduce the score deficit. Dublin South will now play the winner of the second semi-final between St Kieran’s Col and Good Counsel New Ross in the Dr Barry Cup Final that was won last year by their “North” rivals.
Meanwhile, Col Eoin will play Portlaoise CBS in the Leinster “B” juvenile hurling final in Dr Cullen Park on Wednesday, 13th May at 1pm. The Stillorgan school hopes to add the juvenile title to the Leinster senior “B” colleges’s title won earlier in the year.
