Castlecomer CS 1-17 Dublin South 2-10
CASTLECOMER CS opened their campaign with a win yesterday despite a late surge from Dublin South.
The winners, driven on by Stephen Daly, jumped five points clear by the 21st minute (0-7 to 0-2). Daly then snatched a goal with the boot to propel his side to a 1-11 to 0-6 half-time lead.
South Dublin, inspired by a fine solo goal by Naoise Green, bounced back, with Niko Salvino slamming a loose ball to the net in the 52nd minute.
But ‘Comer dug deep and a late point from Charles Dwyer eased them through.
