Dublin hurlers bounced back from the recent defeat against Limerick to overcome Waterford in round 4 of Div 1 of the Allianz NHL on a scoreline of 0-15 to 1-11 in Parnell Park. The Decies, having played with the wind in the first half, went in at the break leading by 1-7 to 0-6. Dublin were denied two goals in this half by the brilliance of Waterford goalkeeper Adrian Power.
In the second half the Dubs gradually reduced the deficit and a point from Shane Durkin in the 57th minute levelled the scores at 0-11 to 1-8. An excellent four man move started by goalkeeper Gary Maguire ended with Kevin Flynn scoring his first point of the current campaign to put the Dubs into the lead.
Eoin Kelly levelled from a free almost immediately. Alan McCrabbe put the Dubs ahead by two points after a clever lay-off from Liam Rushe two minutes into added time. Eoin Kelly scored his 8th point of the afternoon from a free almost at the stroke of full time.
Dublin, who are now in second place in Division 1 after Kilkenny, will travel to Semple Stadium next Sunday to take on Tipperary.
