AT the launch of their 2011 season ticket, GAA director general Paraic Duffy admitted the association are taking a financial hit on the scheme, but insisted the priority lay with getting people through the turnstiles, WRITES Donnchadh Boyle.
The season ticket, priced at €75 for adults and €10 for U-16s, covers all league matches for a chosen code and county, as well as their first championship encounter. Attendance at more than 60pc of matches also guarantees an All-Irelandfinal ticket — should your team get there, as well as discounts for other matches during the year.
“The GAA season ticket is further evidence of the GAA’s commitment to giving value for money to our supporters,” said Duffy. “The season ticket also allows us to reward those who are attending matches on a regular basis when it comes to All-Ireland final time.”
