Kilkenny’s all-star full back, Noel Hickey, is likely to play no part in the Leinster SHC semi-final against Dublin on Sunday. A knee ligament injury has made him a long term absentee from the “Cats” team. However, he is hopeful of a return to competitive action within the next month. James “Cha” Fitzpatrick, who missed the semi-final victory over Galway, is likely to be available for selection after recovering from a hand injury.
Meanwhile, Anthony Daly and his management team continue to monitor the progress of Dubs top scorer Alan McCrabbe’s recovery from a knee injury sustained in the semi final win over Wexford. The Craobh Chiaráin man has been rested since that game in an effort to speed up his recovery. Liam Ryan, who missed the semi-final due to injury, will likely be available for selection as will Ross O’Carroll who returned to competitive hurling action with the Dublin intermediate hurlers last week.
