A new award that recognises the contribution of clubs to the development of hurling will be made at this year’s Celebration of Dublin Hurling in the Grand Hotel, Malahide on Friday, 21st November. A shortlist of three nominations will be made from applications made in the three categories of senior, intermediate and junior clubs. Clubs may only apply in the category where its highest graded team is playing. The winning team in each category will receive a cheque for €1000.
The winners will be announced at the Celebration of Dublin Hurling night at the Grand Hotel, Malahide on Friday November 21st. Each nominated club is expected to attend this event.
In its submission, a club can also refer to the various hurling related activities that it has been involved in. The following are come of the initiatives that can be included:
- Number of friendly games organised.
- Visits to other clubs & counties.
- Any clubs that have visited your club.
- Number of people attending coaching sessions
- .Number of referees in the club.
- Number of qualified coaches.
Confirmation and ratification of each application may be sought.
