Next weekend sees the beginning of our club championship games. There are some wonderful games to look forward to. Cuala have to start all over again but I would not be surprised if they do not go for a four in a row in Dublin and a three in a row in Leinster and All-Ireland titles. Kilmacud, now coached by Dalo, will do all in their power to stop their gallop. Ballyboden are managed by Joe Fortune who made a name for himself with Dublin minors and u-21’s. It should be a wonderful championship. Dublin hurling has achieved a fair bit of success this early in the year. Needless to say Cuala are leading the way. DCU had a wonderful year- reaching the Fitzgibbon Cup final with thirteen Dubs on the panel and winning the All-Ireland Freshers title. Dublin North Colleges beat St. Kierans in the Leinster final. Kierans went on to win the All-Ireland Final. Dublin North couldn’t participate as they are a divisional team. Not bad for the first three months of 2018. So get out and support your club in the coming weeks.
