Congrats to our minor hurlers on winning the Leinster final on Sunday. While the team didn’t perform to the standard of the semi-final they showed great determination and if their shooting had been more accurate they could have the game wrapped up much earlier. They have to wait now for about 6 weeks before the All Ireland semi-final
Our seniors turned in a great performance on Saturday night in Cork and would almost definitely have won if they hadn’t lost a player in the first half. They played an exciting brand of hurling and had Cork worried for a long time. It was great to see the youngest players turning in powerful peformances. Eoghan O’Donnell, Cian O’Callaghan, Shane Barrett and Chris Bennett were excellent and will form the backbone of the Dublin team for many years. Chris Bennett (below) wins the FODH “Laoch Gorm” man of the match award.
Ger Cunningham is now putting his stamp on this team and hopefully he will stay at the helm for another term. Well done to our supporters who travelled to Cork on the fodh bus and to the great Jimmy Gray who managed the bus on the day.
Our senior camogie team didn’t have a good day and were defeated by Galway. They now travel to Tipperary on Saturday next and a win is a must if they are to progress to the next phase.
Attention now turns to Tullamore on Wednesday when we play Offaly in the Leinster u-21 final. Dublin are favourites but that means nothing when you play a team like Offaly. The FODH supporters bus arrangements are as follows:
Departing Connolly Station at 4.30pm and The Spa Hotel at 5.00pm. To book your seat text your name and number to 0872331983 no later that 6 pm on Tuesday.
