Dublin hurlers play Carlow on Tuesday night at Carlow in the Walsh cup. Then they play Offaly at home at 2pm on Sunday December 16th. All eyes will be on the new manager Mattie Kenny and his backroom team.Friends of Dublin Hurling welcome the appointment of Mattie Kenny as Dublin Manager. He helped Cuala win three County tiles, two Leinster and two All-Ireland titles. He played for his home club Tynagh- Abbey- Duniry and he played for Galway from 1988 to 1992. He was a Galway selector in 2011 and 2012 and helped Galway win their first Leinster title in 2012. He was also a selector with the Galway u-21’s. He is taking over a very good team put in place by Pat Gilroy. We believe that he is the right man to lead Dublin for the next three years. We wish him well. Dublin North, current Leinster senior hurling champions, defeated Dublin South in a thrilling game at O’Toole Park last Thursday and they are now through to the Leinster championship. The Leinster Colleges Senior Hurling Championship was first played for in 1918 and the first winners were Castleknock College. Other Dublin teams to win were Coláiste Chaoimhín in 1930 and 1934, Dublin Combined Colleges 2001 and 2008, O’Connells School in 1946 and 1954, Blackrock College in 1935, St. Josephs Marino in 1945 and Dublin North in 2018
