Good luck to our minor hurlers who play Kilkenny tomorrow at 4pm in Nowlan Park in the Leinster championship. Dublin are the current champions as they defeated Kilkenny in the final last year on a score of 6-19 to 7-12. What a pity this game is not a curtain raiser to the senior game at the same venue in two weeks time. A missed opportunity? The minors are away to Wexford on May 11th.
We are only two weeks away from the highly awaited senior game v Kilkenny. The word from Kilkenny is that they will be minus a few key players. Dublin should take no notice of this as Kilkenny will be up for this game as they respect Dublin and admit that they were so lucky last year in the corresponding game at Parnell Park. I notice the bookmakers still have Kilkenny as hot favourites. Dublin’s last competitive game was in Nowlan Park v Limerick and they were impressive in most aspects of their play and Limerick found them hard to beat. So it promises to be a real battle and Dublin can do it. Good luck to them in their preparations.
We will be running buses to the game obviously. We will leave a bit earlier than usual to allow for roadworks, congestion etc. Buses will depart Connnolly Station at 3.15pm, Rathcoole Village at 3.45pm. The return fare is €15, [€10 for fodh current members] and €5 for juveniles. There will be no stops on the way down but should be plenty of time to get some food before the game. To book a seat text your name and pick up point to 0877205887 no later than 6pm on Wednesday May 8th. You can also email info@fodh.ie.
A reminder of our 14th Annual Golf Classic at Castlewarden on Thursday May 16th. The format is a 4 person scramble. The cost of a team is €300 and a tee-box sponsorship is €100. To book a slot call Alan Costello at 0862633200 or Humphrey Kelleher at 0862544328.
