Not a great week for our teams. Congrats to our minor hurlers who qualified for the Leinster final with a good win over Wexford last Saturday. They now meet Kilkenny in the final on Saturday next. They already met in the round robin at Parnell Park as the curtain raiser to the Dublin v Kilkenny senior game and Kilkenny only pulled away in the last few minutes. Good luck to manager Mike Connolly and his young team. The final will take place at O’Moore Park, Portlaoise at 3pm on Saturday next. Friends of Dublin Hurling will run a bus to the game departing Connolly Station at 1pm and Rathcoole at 1.30pm. The fare is €15, €10 for fodh members, and €5 for juveniles. To book a seat text your name and pickup point to 0872331983 no later than 6pm on Thursday. Our u-21’s will be very disappointed with their second half performance against Wexford. They played extremely well in the first half and turned over at half time leading by a goal having played into a strong wind. Wexford scored a goal straight from the start of the second half and they outplayed Dublin in every department for the remainder of the game. This was a very good Dublin team on paper but they didn’t do themselves justice last Wednesday. Our senior camogie team got a lesson in hurling from the All-Ireland champions at Páirc Uí Rinn. Dublin conceded three soft goals which left them demoralised. They have three games left against Meath and Wexford away and against Tipperary at home. Three wins will guarantee second spot where they will meet the third team in the other group. Two wins might be enough to finish third thereby playing the second team in the other group. So all to play for. Congrats to Elaine Dolan and Shane Noonan who are our June members draw winners. They win two tickets each for the Leinster hurling final next Sunday.
