The senior hurling championship has given us a few unexpected results. Cuala losing to Ballyboden is not a real surprise as Cuala will not be back to their best for a while. However, Crumlin beating Ballyboden by two goals was unexpected. St. Finbars had a one point win over Lucan Sarsfields and that gives them four out of four points after two games. So it is all to play for in two groups. St. Vincents are putting up big scores. It is no surprise as the great Mickey Whelan is back training the team. Our minor hurlers play Wexford in the Leinster semi-final at Parnell Park at 3pm next Saturday. They had a narrow win over Wexford in last year’s Leinster final and this game will be a cliff hanger. Good luck to manager Fintan Clandillon and his team. Our Golf Classic is only three weeks away and we have twenty teams on the timesheet now. We have room for thirty teams. The best club team will win a €500 sports voucher for their club. To book a slot or sponsor a tee-box for €100 call Michael at 0872331983. for more details visit fodh.ie. Well done to our senior camogie team who brought All-Ireland champions Kilkenny to extra time before losing by three points. Our sympathy to the family and friends of Christy Downes who passed away this week. He was a great Dublin supporter and many players enjoyed his sweets. Ar dheis Dé go raibh sé
