Well done to our senior hurlers who had a facile win over Offaly in their round robin relegation game. After a ponderous start and many careless wides Dublin gradually found their way and an opportunist goal from Paul Ryan just before half time was the kick start they needed and the second half was all one way. Shane Barrett and Chris Crummey scored 5 points each from their half back positions. Shane Barrett was our man of the match and he will receive his award at our Annual Awards function at The Red Cow Moran Hotel on Friday November 23rd. Dublin now travel to Salthill next Saturday for their final game. Unfortunately, even a win will not matter as Galway, Kilkenny and Wexford are guaranteed the top three places. We will run buses to the game – departing Connolly Station at 2.30 and The Spa Hotel at 3pm. To book a seat text your name and pick up point to 0872331983 no later than 6pm on Thursday. Our under 21 team travel to play Carlow at 7.30pm on Wednesday. A win here will put them in the quarter final v Westmeath. On Wednesday Dublin Clarke play Offaly and Dublin Plunkett play Laois in the Celtic Challenge at 7.30 at Abbottstown. The Bank of Ireland Celtic Challenge is the national hurling development competition for 16 and 17 year olds who are not sitting the Leaving Cert. On Saturday next our senior camogie team start their challenge for the All-Ireland when they take on Offaly in their first of five games over a seven week period. The game is fixed for Parnell Park at 5pm and your support would be appreciated.
