Congrats to Cuala and Na Piarsaigh on a brilliant display of hurling on a bitterly cold day. Cuala looked in trouble twice as the clock was running down but on each occasion got vital scores to bring the game to extra time and then to a replay. David Treacy had a hundred per cent record from frees scoring twelve points. Cuala can look forward to the replay as I feel they believe they can be better the next day. Good luck to them. By the way, Na Piarsaigh Club were founded by a Dublin man, Noel Drumgoole who played full back for Dublin in the 1961 All-Ireland final. The club colours are the old Dublin sky blue colour. Our hurlers can take great heart from the Cuala display when they play Tipp next weekend. They have nothing to loose and the experience will be a great help as they get ready for the Leinster championship. a big test awaits the GAA now as they plan the reminder of the League fixtures. When the calendar was regigged the month of April was given over to clubs. Some felt it wouldn’t happen as team managers wouldn’t release players to play with their clubs. Now we will see if Croke Park itself will take a weekend in April for the League final. If they do then the clubs will suffer again. One solution is to put back the League final to later in the year. Let’s wait and see. Hope to see you all in Parnell to support our hurlers.
