The Premier Junior camogie team came up short against Westmeath in the All-Ireland final yesterday. They got a very good start but didn’t convert possession into scores and being denied a definite penalty in the second half didn’t help their cause. However, they can look forward to next year with a lot of optimism. A speedy recovery to Eve O’Brien, captain of the senior camogie team, who has joined the cruciate brigade. We now await the recommencement of the club championship and the appointment of a senior hurling manager. Can Cuala defend their title is the question people are asking. Last year Cuala played eleven games on the way to winning the All-Ireland club and their toughest games were in the Dublin championship. Ballyboden and Kilmacud would love to stop the Cuala run and St.Vincents are building a very good team under the eye of the great Mickey Whelan. All will be revealed in the next few weeks. Good luck to the Dublin footballers and to the Ladies team as well.
