What a great performance from the Dublin hurlers yesterday. The first half display was as good as we have ever seen from a Dublin team. Dublin dominated in all departments and got some wonderful scores. The management and players can take great heart from yesterday and they are now in a good position to focus on the Leinster championship game against Galway on Sunday May 31. Danny Sutcliffe would have made a difference if he had not pulled up just before the start of the game. There were a few man of the match contenders but we gave it to Niall McMorrow for the most improved performance of on the day. The advantage rule is going to cause big problems for players and referees in the coming months. Mark Schutte was fouled twice just before the winning point and the referee failed to award a free to Dublin and let play continue when Cork won the ball. Dublin had a few wasteful wides in the last five minutes. A few players looked very tired towards the end and maybe a few more substitutions should have been made. However, its onwards and upwards for this team and who knows we may meet Cork again before the year is out.
