I must say I was gobsmacked when I heard the All-Star team announced this morning. Peter Kelly had an outstanding year for Dublin and played in 4 different positions during the league and championship campaign. No player has shown more versatility during the year. Seemingly, it doesn’t pay to be so versatile. A panel of former players and coaches at a recent Sunday Game forum mentioned Peter as one of the outstanding players of the year.
Once again the All-Star selectors have taken the easy option and based their selection on the two teams in the All-Ireland final. Somebody should suggest that theyhave a look at other teams as well.
