Dublin hurling recruit Ryan O’Dwyer
Ryan O’Dwyer looks set to miss Dublin’s NHL Division 1B campaign.
The Tipperary native underwent a shoulder operation before Christmas and The Irish Examiner reports that he has targeted an April return to action.
That would rule the former All Star nominee out of the group stages of the competition but he could be available if Anthony Daly’s men reached the knock-out stages.
Meanwhile, forward Paul Ryan is hoping that the Dubs will enjoy a reversal of fortunes in 2013.
“We were very disappointed with last year and there’s a lot of pain still there, we’re obviously hoping to do a lot better.
“We lost a couple of narrow matches by a point or two and that kind of ate away at our confidence without us knowing. But, to be honest, we want to put that behind us. We’re going into the new season now. I know that last year is not even going to be mentioned in our dressing-room. We’re on a clean slate now.
“Our first goal is to get back to where we were last year, Division 1A in the League.”
Anthony Daly’s hand should be strengthened by the return of Conal Keaney, Stephen Hiney and Alan McCrabbe although Tomas Brady has defected to the footballers
