Réalt Dearg is a brand new hurling club, founded in Dublin in March 2010.
The club was set up by a group of Gaelic games enthusiasts, who felt there was a strong need for a hurling team to cater for the South Dublin City suburbs of Rathmines, Ranelagh, Rathgar, Terenure, Donnybrook and Clonskeagh.
“Stars” are playing in the Dublin junior hurling championship, league and cup. A number of defeats at the start of last year did not deter its members. Eventually the hard work and endeavor contributed towards Réalt Dearg reaching the county semi final in its first season, only to lose to eventual champions, Castleknock.
Recruiting New Players and Manager/Selectors
The club is looking to recruit adult male players of any level or ability. All are welcome and there are already some foreign players on the squad, so even if you’ve never played before, don’t let that stop you.
Réalt Dearg is also on the lookout for anyone interested in being Manager/Selector/Trainer of the team.
The team currently trains in Ringsend Park on Saturday mornings.
