We had some very interesting results in the 2nd round of the senior championship this week. A big surprise was the convincing win of Craobh Chiaran over St. Vincents. Craobh were dominant from the start and the Vinnies never got into the game. Cian Derwin at midfield was my man of the match. Whitehall Colmcille trailed Ballyboden St. Endas by 15 points at half time but turned in a power packed second half and finished up losing by one point. Sean Gray scored 1-11 for his team and gave a top class performance. Con O’Callaghan was man of the match for Cuala who were very convincing in defeating St. Judes by 17 points. Na Fianna, Lucan Sarsfields, St. Brigids, Kilmacud Crokes and Oliver Plunketts had impressive wins. We have to wait now until the Autumn for the final group game.

It’s full steam ahead now for our senior hurlers as they prepare for their visit to Nowlan Park on Saturday May 11th. Last year only a last minute goal by Kilkenny deprived Dublin of a famous win win. Based on their form against Limerick in the league semi-final Dublin have a real chance of winning this one. We will run buses to the game.
A reminder of our 14th Annual Golf Classic at Castlewarden on Thursday May 16th. The format is a 4 person scramble. The cost of a team is €300 and a tee-box sponsorship is €100. To book a slot call Alan Costello at 0862633200 or Humphrey Kelleher at 0862544328.
Happy Easter to all.
