Ballyboden St Enda’s begun the defence of their title in solid fashion in this Dublin SHC ‘A’ Group C clash at O’Toole Park on Saturday afternoon.
Paul Ryan was the scorer-in-chief for the six in-a-row chasers for whom Stephen Hiney lined out at wing-back for the full 60 minutes while Conal Keaney made his return from injury when coming on as a sub eight minutes into the second half.
With the wind at the backs Boden held sway in the opening half and led 0-10 to 0-3 at the interval. Boden restarted the better also with points from Emmet Carroll and Ryan to quickly strengthen their advantage to nine points.
John Hetherton and Tomás Connolly did threathen at times as Vinnies closed the gap but they never looked set to spring a surprise.
