ST VINCENT’S 4-16 DUBLIN SOUTH EAST 1-6
A hat-trick of goals from the lively Stephen Loughlin saw the Marino men make a winning start in this Evening Herald Dublin SHC A Group D round-robin clash at Parnell Park on Friday night.
Jack Gilligan grabbed an early goal for Dublin North East but once Vincents settled they had little difficulty in overcoming their opponents, running out comprehensive 19-point victors after a one-way second half.
In the 22nd minute Loughlin got the first of his goals when he brilliantly doubled overhead on a Damien Russell 65 and just before the interval his second goal made it 2-7 to 1-4 to Vincents at the break.
Two minutes after the restart Vins had moved 3-8 to 1-4 ahead when Loughlin and Cian McBride combined for the No 14 to goal and seven minutes later a point effort from Loughlin dropped under the crossbar to complete the hat-trick.
