Boden knock Lucan for six
BALLYBODEN ST ENDA’S 6-10 LUCAN SARSFIELDS 1-8
Ballyboden St Enda’s drive for five continued in emphatic fashion when they accounted for Lucan Sarsfields in Wednesday night’s Evening Herald Dublin SHC ‘A’ semi-final at Parnell Park.
The champions of the past four seasons made the dream start when Paul Ryan fired to the Lucan net inside 15 seconds and points from Paul Ryan and David O’Connor had them 1-2 to 0-1 up by the midpoint of the opening half.
The game was delayed due to a knee injury to Lucan forward, Padraig O’Driscoll, but once the action resumed Boden immediately took control again and by the interval led 2-7 to 0-2 with Conor McCormack grabbing their second goal in injury-time.
Eight minutes into the second half Ryan showed his clinicial instinct around the square to make it 3-8 to 0-3.
Lucan rallied briefly in the second period with a goal form Dublin minor Chris Crummy temporarily lifting their spirits as they closed the gap to 3-9 to 1-8.
However, it was shortlived as Boden hit three late goals through Tim Sweeney, David O’Connor and McCormack.
