Dublin hurling’s injury hex has struck again with centre-back Joey Boland ruled out for six weeks after suffering a metatarsal injury.
The Na Fianna man picked up the injury in last Sunday’s defeat to Galway and will miss the conclusion of this year’s Allianz NHL – this Saturday’s clash with Kilkenny in Croke Park (5.15) and their final regulation game against Cork (away, April 17).
It is hoped that Boland will be back in action prior to the Leinster SHC clash against Offaly in Parnell Park on May 29.
This latest blow coming following the cruciate injury suffered by Stephen Hiney and broken hand suffered by Conor McCormack which looks set to sideline him for six to eight weeks.
