Cross and Passion 3-12 Col Eoin 1-10
Col Eoin from Stillorgan failed in their bid to win a first All Ireland colleges’ hurling title after defeat to Cross and Passion, Ballycastle on a score of 3-12 to 1-10 in Newry. The winners led by 2-6 to 0-3 at half time despite having to play with fourteen players for much of the half after left half back Daniel Peake recieved a red card early in the game.
Col Eoin played with greater confidence in the second half but were unable to gain the upperhand on their northern opponents. Corner forward, Sean MacCraith scored nine points for the Dublin school and mid-fielder Danny Sutcliffe was excellent throughout the game.
