Dublin hurling manager, Anthony Daly, expressed satisfaction with his side’s win over Offaly in the Walsh Shield competition on Sunday. It was an impressive display from the Blues. It was laced with pace and movement and no little grit.
Daly saw this as ideal preparation for the upcoming league. ” Nobody gets too worried about winning trophies at this time of the year ” he said.
Alan Nolan impressed in goal and made four outstanding saves from Shane Dooley and Brian Carroll. Craobh Chiaráin pair, Alan McCrabbe and Derek O Reilly also impressed, with McCrabbe scoring 11 points.
The “boss” praised the conviction and battling qualities of his charges. The Dublin side had to line out without the services of Tomas Brady and Johnny McCaffrey who had played in the U-21 final that went to extra time the previous day.
” It was good to win it, but now its all about what we do in Cork next Sunday” said Daly.
