As if it wasn’t good enough to have Dublin’s senior and minor teams in action in this Sunday’s Hurling All-Ireland semi-final, the new entertainment on show at Croke Park means your big-match experience will be one to remember regardless of the results.
The addition of a special Fanzone (at the entrance of the GAA museum on the Cusack Stand side of the stadium) has brought a new dimension to the Croke Park experience. Already over 3,500 fans have had their pictures taken with the Liam McCarthy and Sam Maguire cups in the Fanzone giving them the perfect memento to remember their day at HQ by.
None other than Hector Ó hEochagáin will be acting as MC for the day in his usual inimitable way, mingling with fans on their way to the game and pre-match at the Fanzone. Hector will also be engaging in live pitch-side interviews before the game and at half-time with well-known GAA personalities and a supporter from each team plucked from the crowd. Who knows – your views on the big game could be broadcast to a crowd of 80,000 on the stadium’s two big screens. Your 15 minutes of fame – and Hector – await you!
If you don’t get picked for your punditry never mind – you could still be the lucky spectator chosen as the ‘Face in the Crowd’ with a fantastic prize on offer. Our roving cameraman will choose one lucky winner at Sunday’s semi-final during the half-time interval.
To top it all off there’s on-pitch entertainment between the minor and senior game to make sure every minute of your visit to Croke Park is catered for. And we haven’t even taken into consideration the two great games of hurling you’ll witness yet!
