Fingal booked their place in the quarter-final of the Nickey Rackard Cup after a comfortable victory in Swords on Saturday.
Poor shooting let the visitors down but they did grab the game’s opening goal when Conor Grogan found the net from an acute angle.
Fingal hit back with a goal of their own on the stroke of half-time, Brian McCarthy poking home after a scramble.
This gave them a somewhat undeserved three-point half-time lead. To their credit, however, Fingal went from strength to strength thereafter and dominated the second half. Colm Foley was particularly impressive and scored five points in the 35 minutes. He was ably assisted by Paul McAllister.
Tyrone did snatch a late consolation when Grogan got his second goal but it only served to put some gloss on the scoreline as Fingal march on.
