Hard luck on our minor hurlers who were defeated by Wexford in the Leinster championship. The game went to extra time and Wexford just pulled away at the end. All is not lost however, and now Dublin play Laois this weekend and they must win to stay in the championship. Laois had a comprehensive win over Carlow and will be no pushover. Hopefully Dublin’s experience of playing big games will stand to them. Johnnie McGuirk and his management team have left no stone unturned to have this team ready for the championship. We wish them well. Congratulations to our South Dublin juvenile team who defeated the great St. Kierans College by 3-9 to 1-8 in the Leinster final. It was a wonderful performance by these young hurlers and it gives great hope for the future. Well done to the management team of Cian Waldron, Dan O’Neill and Mike O’Dwyer. Thanks to Colm Burtchael who oversees the whole project. We wish Fingal well when they travel to Monaghan to play in the Nickey Rackard Cup. We had some interesting results in the club championships over the weekend. Kilmacud and Cuala played out a draw and may meet again at a later stage. Lucan and O’Tooles also had a draw and both will need to improve a lot to worry the big teams. The next round will take place next week and then there will be a lull as the county players get back to training for the game v Wexford on May 22nd at Croke Park. Bookings are coming in for our Golf Classic at Castlewarden on Thursday May 26th. To book a slot [ €240] or sponsor a teebox [€100] call/text Michael at 0872331983.
