St Oliver Plunkett’s/Eoghan Ruadh put in a stirring second half to overhaul Wicklow’s Glenealy and emerge victorious in Sunday’s Leinster Club IHC quarter-final in Aughrim.
The Garden County side held the upperhand in the opening half hour to lead 0-8 to 0-4 at the interval.
However, the sending off of senior county hurler, Wayne O’Gorman, eventually began to tell against Glenealy as the Plunkett’s half-back line of Paddy Aird, Paddy Bergin and Paddy Curtin exerted a greater influence on proceedings.
Second half points from Stuart Mullen, Liam Corbett and Cian Walsh were crucial as the Navan Road side prevailed, 0-15 to 0-10.
