After a thrilling day of action on Sunday in the Allianz Hurling Leagues, fixture details have been confirmed for the respective finals, semi-finals and relegation play-offs.
In Division IA, Kilkenny’s crushing win over Galway saw them progress to the semi-finals, where they will meet the winners of the Division IB final between Clare and Limerick at Semple Stadium on Sunday, April 22 at 2pm.
The other semi-final pairing in the top tier sees Cork and Tipperary meet again in Thurles having played out a sensational 1-23 apiece draw in Semple Stadium yesterday. Their last four clash will follow the first semi-final, with the throw-in at 4pm.
Waterford’s win over Dublin, coupled with Galway’s defeat, means the Déise have avoided the relegation play-off which will now be contested by Dublin and Galway on April 15 at O’Connor Park, Tullamore.
As stated above, Clare and Limerick will contest the Division IB final. That will take place next Saturday at 6pm in the Gaelic Grounds, Limerick, with the winner achieving promotion to the top tier, and proceeding to the Division IA semi-finals.
Clare were guaranteed a spot in the decider before yesterday’s games but they still had a massive say in who would join them by recording a last-gasp victory over Offaly.
The Faithful County’s heartbreaking defeat meant Limerick made the final, after they comfortably beat Antrim in Casement Park.
Meanwhile, the Division IB relegation play-off will be between Wexford and Laois at 2pm on April 15 in Nowlan Park. They met yesterday in what was effectively a dry run ahead of that game, with Wexford winning well.
That game will be part of a double header, with the Division IIA final between Carlow and Westmeath taking place at the Kilkenny venue at 4pm. Click here for the fixture details from Divisions IIA, IIB, IIIA and IIIB.
