CLARE 3-19 DUBLIN 2-18
Colin Ryan’s 65th minute goal gave reigning All-Ireland champions, Clare, victory in this SHC challenge at Cusack Park, Ennis on Saturday night.
Ryan worked a one-two with sub David Reidy before blasting past Alan Nolan.
Dublin began the game in spectacular fashion, when full-forward David O’Callaghan rounded Clare full-back David McInerney to fire home the opening goal on 45 seconds.
Conal Keaney added a second in the 19th minute, but Clare finished the half in flying form and goals from Colm Galvin in the 26th minute and another by Darach Honan as the Banner led 2-13 to 2-9 at the interval.
Four unanswered points on the by Alan McCrabbe (0-3) and Niall McMorrow levelled matters by the 40th minute.
On 59 minutes, Dublin goalkeeper Nolan made a fine save from John Conlon but there was little he could do to deny Ryan five minutes later.
