Shane Ryan has announced his intention to commit to hurling for 2010. He told Conor McKeon of the Evening Herald ‘Its something I have been rattling around in my head for the past few months. To be honest I have thought about it most years since I have been involved at inter-county level. But it’s a case of now or never and I don’t want to finish my intercouonty career without giving hurling a right go.’ Anthony Daly is receptive to the idea. ‘If Shane wanted to have a cut we’d take a look at him. I’d pick anyone on merit.’ Shane last played for the hurlers in 2001 and it remains to be seen if he can make up those lost years. We wish him the best.
